Aphrodite IX #1 Aiming to capture lightning in a bottle? Seems so. Wohl and Finch have turned out another book featuring a long-legged, busty, pouty-lipped character, this time featuring a mystery involving identity, androids, and assassination. Despite the flashy artwork and bright coloring, however, Aphrodite IX is an uncompelling effort that seems derivative of an assortment of other works, including Blade Runner, La Femme Nikita, and even Star Wars, just to start with. Nothing here that I'm interested in following. ©2000 by Steven E. McDonald |
