X-Men #104 Wolverine and Rogue lead the charge to Hong Kong and spend a good part of the issue breaking things while tracking the team members abducted by the Goth -- which manages to involve Killian and the Sea Dogs, even while Gambit and company are trying to forge an escape from the clutches of the Goth. Surprisingly, the narrative is relatively easy to follow, even when the art is confusing and the dialog seems to go on forever (if one of the effects of Claremont's departure is improved dialog writing, I'll be happy.) Other than that, not overly compelling stuff -- it's the standard issue X-Men bang and crash. ©2000 by Steven E. McDonald |
